Army win to stay unbeaten, Deportivo PF edged out spirited moruga fc

Defence Force completed the first round of the Ascension Football Tournament unbeaten after a clinical 3-0 victory over Real West Fort United on Saturday at the Arima Velodrome.

Army have amassed 23 points (7 wins, 2 draws) from their nine games and are tied on points with Terminix La Horquetta Rangers but are second on the table because of lesser goals scored.

Moruga FC displayed their best performance of the tournament thus far, but it was not enough to defeat their Southern counterparts as they lost 2-1 to Deportivo Point Fortin.

Deportivo`s Ezekiel Kesar got the first item of the match in the fourth minute giving his team the 1-0 lead. However, Moruga FC switched gears and piled on the pressure and were rewarded with an equalizing goal in the 34th minute through Keion Larode.
