The organizers of the Ascension Tournament of Trinidad & Tobago have decided to sponsor the Zonal Football in T&T for the 2022 season.
The announcement was recently released by Tournament Director of the Ascension Tournament Kieron Edwards. It was noted that each zone will be sponsored sixty thousand for the prize money as well as referee fees.
Ascension is known for their continuous outstanding work in local football as they are already hosting their own league which is in its second edition. They are also sponsoring the ongoing women`s league WOLF.
This venture undertaken by Ascension will allow uniformity amongst the zones in terms of starting time and prize money. It also provides a platform for further collaboration amongst the zones.
The various leagues are carded to begin in a couple weeks. The participating zones are East Zone, North Zone, South Zone, Central Zone, Eastern Counties, Tobago
The prize structure is First – $30,000.00, Second – 20,000.00 and Third -$10,000.00.
