Five – Star Performance by Defence Force, Central FC

Defence Force produced a five-star performance on Saturday evening at the Arima Velodrome by whipping the in-form Cunupia FC 5-0 in round six of the Ascension Football Tournament.

National striker Reon Moore gave Army the lead in the 11th minute, slapping home from close range following an error by Cunupia`s goalkeeper Kevin Graham. Moore`s strike partner Jameel Boatswain doubled the lead eight minutes later with a simple trap and finish leaving Graham stranded. The third striker in the trio attack Brent Sam rose above his defenders to head home from a Jelani Felix`s corner at the half hour mark.

Moore scored his second goal of the night as he latched unto Shaquille Bertrand`s cross which was dummied by Boatswain in the 65th. Substitute Dylon King rounded off the scoring for the “Teteron Boys” in 90+2 sealing victory by handful of goals.

Keasean St Rose became the fourth player in the league to register a hat-trick as he helped Central FC to a triumphant 5-2 victory over winless Moruga. His goals came in (20th, 51st, 77th).  The other scorers for Central were Romario Burke (65) and Renaldo Francois (85). Keruille Jerimiah provided some resistance for Moruga by getting on the scoresheet in minutes 39 and 54.
