invincible Rangers win again

Already crowned champions Terminix La Horquetta Rangers are still on track to complete the tournament unbeaten after recording a 3-1 victory over Deportivo Point Fortin in the penultimate round of the Ascension Football Tournament on Friday at the La Horquetta Recreation Grounds.

Rangers got the early 1-0 lead from striker Kadeem Corbin in the 12th minute, scoring his 11th goal of the campaign. Before Deportivo PF can recover, they were already 2-0 down as former national midfielder Ataulla Guerra notched his 13th goal of the season in the 32nd minute.

Halftime substitute Tyrone Charles extended the lead to 3-0 within two minutes of coming into the game. Deportivo`s Akeem Redhead added some respectability to their goal column after scoring in the 74th minute.

Sedale Mclean bagged a double within two minutes to set up a 3-1 victory for AC Port of Spain over Cunupia FC. The first half saw lots of missed chances by both teams until Cunupia`s Kaleb Douglas broke the deadlock in the 43rd minute. Mclean then responded with his two items in the 62nd and 64th. After going down 2-1 Cunupia found some energy and were threatening as they searched for the equalizer. However, AC`s Jabari Raphael ended all doubts with a goal in the 90+2 for the 3-1 win.
