“Moore” Goals sink Central

Defence Force and National striker Reon Moore became the third player to register a hat-trick in this year`s edition of the Ascension Football Tournament. His goals came against Central FC in a 4-0 victory on Saturday at the Arima Velodrome.

Army wasted little time in getting on the scoresheet when midfielder Justin Sadoo intercepted the ball and slipped a pass through to Moore who calmy slotted it home far post for the 1-0 lead in the second minute.

Moore turned provider for the next goal as he jetted down the left flank to set up his strike partner Jameel Boatswain for an easy tap in goal for the 2-0 lead in the 8th minute.

Five minutes later, Defence Force put the game beyond reach of their opponents with another goal from Moore, this time an unmarked header from a pinpointed Jelani Felix corner.

Moore probed for his third goal for most of the game, and it finally arrived in the 88th minute. Substitute Rivaldo Coryat`s smooth back flick fell perfectly for Moore who slapped it home for the 4-0 victory. Real West Fort United got their second victory in the league with a narrow 1-0 win against Central Soccer World. Ross Dowden`s one-time finish in the 32nd minute was good enough for the three points.
