Police earned top three finish

Strikers Juma Clarence and Jameel Perry scored two goals apiece in either half to ensure Police FC would end the Ascension Football Tournament in the top three after a resounding 6-2 victory over Moruga FC on Sunday at the St James Barracks.

Kervelle Turner surprisingly took the 1-0 lead for Moruga FC in the fourth minute. The early goal seemed to have spurred on the home team as Perry tied the game just three minutes later and then scored another in the 17th minute for the 2-1 lead.

Former national youth striker Clarence took up the scoring from his strike partner Perry in the second period. The lanky striker scored his team`s third goal in the 72nd and his teammate Christian Thomas made it 4-1 four minutes later.

Clarence returned to score his second goal in the 85th minute and two minutes later his teammate Kevin Lewis banged in the sixth goal. Glen Sutton added to Moruga`s tally in the 90th+3 to end the game at 6-2.

Police FC can move up to second spot on the table if they defeat Defence Force in their last game of the tournament.
