A spirited second-half performance and some tactical changes by coach Dave Quamina allowed Terminix La Horquetta Rangers to narrowly defeat AC Port of Spain 2-1 on Friday at the La Horquetta Recreation Ground for Round Nine of the Ascension Football Tournament.
AC POS played the better football throughout the first half creating several chances, but they were unable to overcome custodian Jabari St Hillaire. Coach Quamina inserted attacking players Kadeem Corbin, Isaiah Lee, and Jamal Creighton which paid off immediately.

The newly formed frontline for Rangers applied pressure on the defence forcing a misplaced a pass that Corbin collected and rounded goalkeeper Jaden Poon Lewis to open the scoring in the 51st minute.
Four minutes later, Daniel David added to the lead with a right footed shot from a Corbin assist. AC continued to apply the pressure for a goal, and they were rewarded for their hard work with a goal in the 67th minute. Che Benny who had an impressive match slipped a well-waited ball for Sedale Mc Clean who dribbled his defender and slapped it far post giving St Hillaire no chance. Both teams had chances to score but the match remained 2-1 in favour of the home team.
Central Soccer World have won successive matches after a slim 1-0 victory over Cunupia FC. Unfortunately, Cunupia FC were without their star players leading goal scorer in the tournament Kevon “Showtime” Woodley and midfielder Keon Daniel. However, they were dominating the first half hour of play and against the run of play national striker Nicholas Dillon scored in the 35th minute. Dillon`s goal was heavily deflected which took it away from goalkeeper from Jon- Pierre David and into the back of the net.
