Rangers, Police FC win Comprehensively

Terminix La Horquetta Rangers whipped Central Soccer World 4-2 to extend their lead on top of the table after four rounds of the Ascension Football Tournament on Friday night at the La Horquetta Ground.

Top Striker Kadeem Corbin opened the scoring in the 22nd minute for the home team after slotting home past goalkeeper Diego Suarez when he ran unto a splendid pass from teenager Real Gill. Ten minutes later, veteran left back Kemuel Rivers shot past goalkeeper Jabari St. Hillaire from the penalty spot for the equalizer. The game stood at 1-1 at the half-time interval.

Rangers` Atuallah Guerra gave his team the 2-1 lead in the 54th with a smart finish from inside box beating Suarez once again. Three minutes later, Isaiah Lee picked the pocket of the central defender of Soccer World to calmy slot it home for the 3- 1 lead for Rangers.

The visiting team was awarded yet another penalty, but St. Hillaire saved the initial penalty shot from National Striker Nicholas Dillon, but Rivers was close by to tap in the rebounded shot to cut the deficit to 3-2. However, Daniel David ended all doubt for Rangers with a terrific finish in the 80th minute sealing the 4-2 victory and the extended lead on top the table.

In the previous match at the same venue, Police FC recorded a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Real West Fort United. The lawmen were awarded two penalties within the space of three minutes following some questionable defending from West Fort.

However, West Fort United piled on the pressure against their opponents but couldn’t past National Goalkeeper Adrian Foncette. Then, against the run of play Police FC got their third goal via Kemron Purcell`s header from a corner. This is the central defender second goal in as many matches.

Police closed of the match early in the second half when Jabari Mitchell added his second in the 52nd minute to give his team a 4-0 lead and that is how the match ended.
